Devlog #4: 23-12-2023

Overview:

Project FRAG is now in full swing with the entire team actively engaged in their respective roles. Work assignments align with each team member's expertise, fostering collaboration and the exchange of ideas. Excitingly, two new talents, Manas Ranjan Muduli and Anshika Gupta, have joined the project. Anshika brings a wealth of experience in the art field, contributing her skills to designing concept art and 3D models. Meanwhile, Manas will be an integral part of the level design and programming teams, focusing on environment art and puzzle creation. Additionally, the team is thrilled to welcome back Veer Solanki from a short break, where he will take on a crucial role in managing the art team and overseeing level design. The project is gaining momentum with this dynamic and skilled team in place.

Responsibilities : 

Ashwin Ravikumar, Aniket Krish Das, Adikesavan, Ramshri Kishan Mohapatra, and Wahhaj Mustafa are collaborating on the Systems Design aspect of the game. Their focus involves intricately designing and strategically planning the implementation of various game elements. This includes refining the gunplay systems, conceptualizing the sanity mechanic, defining the main character states, and crafting the intricacies of the enemy AI.

Prakhar and Manas are collaborating on developing puzzle mechanics and designs for various sections of the map. Prakhar, Veer Solanki, and Shamitr Sudhir Mardikar are collectively engaged in the level design process, particularly focusing on shaping the initial starting area of the map.

Shaan Chandra is dedicated to the intricate field of sound design, handling the creation of sounds, and metasounds, and implementing sound design within the Unreal Engine.

Shamitr Sudhir Mardikar is currently conceptualizing the on-paper design art for the weapons in the game.

Mohika Rastogi is actively involved in the expansive task of world-building, shaping the universe of the game, and crafting the narrative progression. Additionally, she is responsible for designing the aesthetic and personality of the main character.

The project also includes pending tasks such as UI/UX and HUD designs, concept art for the environment, and the creation of character model assets, all of which are yet to be tackled.

What’s Next : 

The team aims to conclude the design phase by the end of this year, paving the way for the commencement of mechanics development within Unreal Engine 5 at the onset of the upcoming year. Progress might be slowed in the coming weeks due to Christmas and New Year celebrations, but we will be back refreshed and ready to grind even harder!
